You're on a train which promisses to take you to the most wonderful places you can imagine, with no extra effort. You just have to choose that train, and you're all set to go.
However, the seats in which you're traveling are made of rock, which makes you quite uncomfortable after a while. The journey is in motion, but at the cost of your patience, which makes you question — somewhere during the trip — if the goal you've been promised is really worth all this trouble.
Hence the goal of design. By entering this train, you'll eventually reach your goal. It works.
But it's not beautiful.
