Here's a fun hack/metaphor for creativity.
Set your mind to be like a playground. Gather the toys you feel important (the information you consume), but then let the kids (your thoughts) pick them up and just use them.
If you give them enough time to play inside your brain, they will produce wonderful new games (new ideas). And the less resources they have, the more resourceful the result will be. Maybe these new games will even catch on and other kids will want to play them as well.
Do refuse, however, to play games which are not yours. You know how kids can be jealous.
