Passion is overrated and purpose is underestimated. That’s the conclusion I draw from one of Micah Baldwin’s recent posts.
We confuse passion for purpose, because passion is visual and exciting and leads to outbursts and angry posts and beautiful lovingly designed sites. It doesn't lead to changing the world. Purpose does.
Yet another example where the proper use of semantics completely makes a difference. Words are more than a channel for our ideas. The very ones we choose to communicate with can change everything we ever meant to say and do.
“Follow your passion” isn’t that good life advice. “Craft and follow your purpose” is.
